Reigel Draught Lager

Brauhaus Reigele is a family owned brewery based in Augsburg, Bavaria. www.riegele.de. We hold the importation rights to Reigele and can import any of their beers and look for new distributors to enhance their businesses.  We concentrate on the "export" beer "Privat" which at 5.2% is a superb example of the Bavarian style. Their wheatbeer is particularly fine and was the second-most popular draught beer in the Rising Sun.

This beer was voted the Best Beer in Germany in 2006 and last year gained a the top award in the Eurpean Beer Star Competition: possibly the best lager in the World!

The brewery dates from the 16th century and since 1884 has been owned by the Reigele family. This advantage allows all profits to be re-invested in the brewery rather than be distributed to shareholders.

In June 2001, the Council of Ministers of the European Union issued a favourable ruling on an application by the Bavarian Brewers Federation to accord the designation “Bavarian Beer” legal protection as a geographic appellation. The application was supported by both the Government of the State of Bavaria and the Federal Government of Germany, as well as the EU Commission. The EU ruling means that beers which are brewed in Bavaria in accordance with the Bavarian Beer Purity Law of 1516 may carry the official designation “Bavarian Beer” on the label. All other beers claiming to be “Bavarian” are now barred from using that designation.

Because all Bavarian breweries still adhere strictly to the traditional “Purity-Law” way of brewing, consumers all over the world can trust that a beer described as “Bavarian Beer” is a truly wholesome and healthy brew made only with natural ingredients. Bavarian Beer has always been and will continue to be made only from clean, pure water, top-quality, non-genetically modified malt, the best hops, and healthy brewers yeast.
